Start small. God meets you in every quiet moment you show up.
You’re here because something in you longs to know God more deeply—and you know His Word is where that begins. Yet maybe the Bible feels overwhelming, confusing, or even intimidating. You’re not alone. God doesn’t invite us to come with perfection, but with humility and hunger.
If you’ve ever opened your Bible and whispered, “Where do I start?”—only to close it again—you’re not the first. I’ve been there too. I thought reading just a verse wasn’t “enough.” But Scripture reminds us: “Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation” (1 Peter 2:2). Starting small isn’t weakness—it’s wisdom.
Think of someone breaking a fast. They don’t sit down to a feast all at once—it would overwhelm their body. They begin slowly, gently. Or consider Jeremiah, who said, “Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart” (Jeremiah 15:16). Just one bite at a time.
If you haven’t been in Scripture for a while—or maybe ever—start with a single verse. A short psalm. One story of Jesus. As the psalmist said, “How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” (Psalm 119:103). Small tastes build an appetite.
You don’t need to know it all. You don’t need a perfect reading plan. Just bring a willing heart that says, “Lord, I’m here.” And God delights in that simple beginning.
Are you ready to start? Let’s take that first step.
